Argos

Argos

Argos operates a number of distribution centres in the UK for home delivery fulfilment operations. Some of these are dedicated to two man operations (large and heavy items), and some are dedicated to one man operations (smaller items). As part of its expansion plans, the Company wanted to consider options for consolidating two of its one man facilities into a larger DC currently used for two man activities.

The Logistics Business was commissioned to consider the feasibility of the proposed consolidation and to develop a business case for the change. The work included data collection, detailed modelling and forecasting the future requirements for the one man business.

As part of the work, schemes were prepared for the reconfigured facility, including layout drawings and new operating methods.
